Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein met with supporters in Denver and Boulder on April 20th, 2012. Because her visit coincided with 4/20, a day associated with the celebration of marijuana, much of of what Dr. Stein spoke about was her stance on drug policy. Dr. Stein was a speaker at the Denver 4/20 rally where she addressed a crowd of thousands of marijuana supporters. Her speech outlined specific actions she would take as president regarding marijuana policy, such as ending DEA raids on medical marijuana dispensaries and removing marijuana from the strict Schedule I category of drugs. Dr. Stein also called for regulating marijuana in a similar way to alcohol as a way to increase tax revenues. Shortly after her visit to Colorado, the Stein campaign issued a statement about her stance on drug policy.
